Captain Mark Rose had the pleasure of fishing with Kelton, Reed, and Ken. They were looking for some bass fishing action while visiting family here in Naples, FL from Virginia. Captain Mark took them on an adventure for peacock bass in the Golden Gate Canals.

This fishery is absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for a great time-catching number of quality peacock bass, this is the place to visit. Kelton, Reed, and Ken caught over 30 fish. One of the advantages of fishing here in Naples is that you will get to experience a wide variety of Florida species.

Multitable Species Caught

They brought aboard mainly peacock bass with two personal best fish weighing 4.5 and 4.7 pounds. They also caught some quality largemouth bass. Conditions were just right for non-stop action. Water temperatures stayed consistent at 71 degrees most of the trip with sunny skies.

These gentlemen will be back for more action on their next visit. Captain Mark is looking forward to showing them around next time!

Just shortly after that awesome fishing trip, Captain Mark adventured out again in Naples. This time, he had the pleasure of fishing with Jerry, Chuck, Connor, and Evan. Jerry was grandpa, Chuck was Dad and Connor and Evan were Chuck’s sons. They were visiting family during the holidays and peacock bass fishing was on the menu.

The action was hot and heavy on this fishing adventure as well. Most of the bass are staging in 3-4 feet of water. This makes for a great opportunity to land some big bass. This family had a blast catching over 30 fish on this trip.

Most of them were peacock bass with largemouth bass and a freshwater snook thrown in the mix. The biggest peacock bass weighed over 4 pounds. The snook weighed 7 pounds and put up a great fight.

Captain Mark is looking forward to this family coming back to Florida and getting hooked up again!
