Slims Fish Camp Fishing
This archived Lake Okeechobee report follows Darrell Ivy and his son Jayden on a Belle Glade trip from the Slims Fish Camp area with Captain Robert Miley.
The group began with live shiners and later switched to artificial lures, including bluegill-pattern swim jigs.
During this historical outing, Darrell and Jayden caught about 50 largemouth bass. The best fish weighed around 6.5 pounds, with several additional bass in the 3- to 4-pound range.
Water temperature was reported near 70 degrees with a light breeze.
