Captain Mike Groshon had the pleasure of fishing with repeat clients, Dan and his son Matthew. The last time they went fishing on the Lake Ida Chain of Lakes, they had a fantastic day catching a trophy peacock bass and largemouth. Even though this trip was slightly different, they thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the sunshine of Florida.
Palm Beach is susceptible to cooler weather when the cold fronts roll through. As a result, you will have a decrease in water temperatures. Peacock bass is an exotic species from the Amazon. They love warm weather and water conditions all year round. If you are fishing for peacock bass north of Miami during cold front conditions, be patient and allow your captain to get you on as many fish as possible.

Dan and Matthew had to move around from spot to spot to find the peacock bass. They picked away at few and were excited to land the numbers they did. It was a great time on the water with nice weather.

Captain Mike is looking forward to getting back on the water with this father-son duo again soon!

Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Mike adventured out on Lake Osborne. This time he had the pleasure of fishing with Frank. Frank was traveling from Kentucky and had to get into his first peacock bass. There was no better place to do that than on this beautiful lake.

Even though the water temperatures were still down, the bite was much different. The weather was beautiful with light winds out of the southwest. A slower bite made for a great time to learn more about Frank and share fishing memories with him.

As the sun came out, the bite got better. The fish were able to acclimate quickly and allow Frank to land several-quality peacock bass. Most of the bass were in the 2-3 pound range. When you are adventuring out in Palm Beach, you can be certain that Captain Mike is going to work hard to put you on the best fish possible.

Frank had a great time on the water. Captain Mike is looking forward to fishing with him again in the future!
