Okeechobee Bass Fishing out on the North Side
This archived North End Lake Okeechobee report follows a six-hour trip with Capt. Brian Brown. The group launched near Garrard’s Bait & Tackle and chose to fish live shiners, using five dozen during the historical trip.
The bite was steady but not exceptional. The group moved frequently and picked up quality fish in several areas rather than finding one large concentration. Most bass were in the 2.5- to 3-pound range. The trip did not produce a giant fish, but it illustrates the value of covering water when one area does not stay productive.
