Access to Javors Lucas Lake is open to the public; however, the Macon Water Authority limits the hours and days. Therefore, anglers cannot fish on this lake during public holidays, such as Labor Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, etc.

During the fishing season at Javors Lucas Lake, you will find a complete pool filled with diverse basses (largemouth, striped, hybrid, spotted, etc.), crappie, catfish, shellcracker, and bluegill fish.

High Falls Lake

Located in High Falls State Park, northwest of Macon, High Falls Lake is one of the top public fishing spots in the whole state.

Lake Tobesofkee

Another popular fishing spot, Lake Tobesofkee, is located just 5 miles west of Macon and is half an hour from Lake Lucas. A vast lake, taking up around 1800 acres. It has a 35-mile shoreline, so there are plenty of great spots to catch fish.

There are three parks in this location: Sandy Beach Park, Arrowhead Park, and Claystone Park. For fishing, the Arrowhead Park Fishing Pier is the most popular. Both Arrowhead and Claystone parks contain two magnificent boat ramps for those who want to fish by boat. There is also a marina available.

Tobesofkee is a beautiful place for camping, too. You will find all the resources to camping, fishing, and boating ready for use. In the campground, you will find many pull-through sites to enjoy the spectacular view of the lake.
