Most importantly, Brian wanted to catch some bass flipping the heavy mats. Consequently, we took our time fishing and caught some quality largemouth bass throughout our trip.

Most of the bass Brian caught were over 4 pounds with the biggest weighing in at 6 pounds. As a result, Brian had a fantastic day fishing with Captain Steve and was absolutely worn out.

Lake Tohopekaliga treated Rob well but nothing could compare to previous trips with Captain Steve on the Rodman Reservoir. As a result, Captain Steve had to make a change for the second day and take him over to Kenansville Lake. Kenansville had the power to bring in some big bass this time of year because of the amazing grass structure.

Consequently, the Kenansville Bass Fishing Charters change in location landed them one of the best days on the water. The first hour was slow. It took some time for the bass to get going but once they did it was on. Once the sun came out and a light breeze hit the water the fish started to bite. One of the best techniques to fish this lake is running wild caught shiners up under the mat.

Rob cashed in on over 20 largemouth bass with a bass in the 5-6 pound range in his quick 4-hour fishing adventure. The trip was so amazing that next year he will bring his wife down. Above all, we had a lot of laughs, smiles and a great time. You can’t beat the action on this amazing lake as it can produce some big bass.
