Florida Big Bass Fishing
This archived Lake Okeechobee report follows Chad, Nick, and Will on a trip with Captain Mark Shepard.
The group traveled from Indiana, and Chad returned after a previous trip had been disrupted by rain.
During this historical outing, the anglers caught more than 50 largemouth bass and eventually ran through all of their live bait.
Chad landed two standout fish. The first weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces. On the final shiner of the day, he caught an 8-pound largemouth bass.
That final-fish story is the lasting value of this page. It shows why anglers stay engaged until the last bait or cast, but it should not be read as a guarantee that every Lake Okeechobee trip will produce the same numbers or trophy size.
