Flukin' in the grass My son and I had a great trip with Captain Mark. He fit Us in on short notice when another guy had equipment problems. He taught us to fish a fluke on straight braid in the sawgrass. It was really fun yanking bass out of the grass. We had an awesome time throwing flukes in the grass.

Mark Rose was excellent. Got us on the peacock bass. My daughter, son-in-law and grandson had a blast peacock bass was on my grandson‘s bucket list. He’s only eight years old. Mark was very helpful and got him on the peacocks. Highly recommend Mark.

February 5, 2025 - Family Fishing Our family joined Mark on Lake Okeechobee this February 2025. Mark was amazing! He kept in touch with my husband as our fishing date approached to determine the best fishing spot for our visit. He was very knowledgeable of the area and very friendly to us and our three boys. His boat was so clean, his passion for the sport, and respect for nature shined through with each minute we were on his boat. We latched on to our first bass within 30 seconds of the first line hitting the water. All 5 of us were able to catch bass on our trip. Mark took and shared pictures with us as well. We are so grateful to have gotten to work with Mark and are excited to go again with him in the future! Thanks, Mark!

Great day fishing We went on Lake Okeechobee with Capt. Mark. We had a great time pulling up some really impressive largemouth bass including a 5 pounder. Capt. Mark's boat and equipment are top notch. Looking forward to fishing with him again.

Capt Mark Rose My 13 year old son has wanted to catch a peacock bass ever since he first saw one on tv years ago. We flew down from Mississippi and booked a trip with Capt Mark to try and make it happen. Man he did not disappoint!!! I told Capt Mark we only had a couple hours to fish due to other obligations and he said no problem. Within 10 minutes of leaving the boat launch he had us on fish, and the action never stopped! We caught more fish than we could keep count of. Almost every cast resulted in a hook up. We left the dock with 100 shiners and almost everyone of them resulted in a hook up or missed fish ( our fault not getting a good hook set etc). Not only did we catch a bunch of fish but we caught some really nice ones as well with multiple fish over 3 pounds. I cannt recommend him enough, I’ve done several trips from the keys to Texas and Capt Mark was by far the best charter Capt I have ever fished with! If your looking for a great fishing trip book Capt Mark, you will not regret it!

Captain Mark Rose Will definitely be using Mark Rose again. Very professional and works hard for his clients The day started out as a large mouth trip but due to the weather we could not get out onto the lake. Instead of calling g it quits he pivoted and took us Peacock fishing. What a trip!

Nice Trip! Captain Mark Rose met right on time at the dock. Got everyone settled and we were off. Found our spot and he got us all set up. First bite was in the first 15 or 20 minutes! He was excellent with the grand children. 12 and 13, one with ADHD. Kept them engaged and reminding them to pay attention. As always would have liked to have caught more, but we reeled in about ten not including the snake, (none of us were a fan) and a gar. Already planning a trip for next year.

Great day out on the water! We went out with Capt Mark and it was an absolutely beautiful day on Lake Okeechobee. Capt Mark has a very impressive bass boat that is comfortable and well maintained. More importantly, he put us on fish and kept us busy reeling them up throughout the trip. We probably caught 15 largemouth including a beautiful 5 pounder. I would recommend Capt Mark.

2 fun days at Okeechobee We fished with Mark Rose Jan24-25 at Okeechobee. This was a bucket list trip for me and it didn't disappoint. We caught numerous fish with my biggest being 6.7. Mark has a great boat and he worked hard to keep us on fish. I also liked the other bass on line guides shared info during the day to benefit all their clients.

We had that "other day", you know, that day you catch 30 fish and then for the next few weeks you tell everyone "you should have been there that other day". We caught several 4 lb peacock bass in the Golden Gate canals. Plus many other large peacocks. At least 30 fish for Marty and I. Capt Mark knows these canals, and knows where to find the fish. Okeechobee Bass Trip Dec ‘23 Booked a trip for the wife and I with Capt Mark Rose out of Belle Glade. Awesome time and Capt Mark always puts us on the fish. He does so well the wife outfishes me.

Great trip Capt Mark Rose took my wife and I for a 6hr trip in Okeechobee today. The fishing was a little tough with the weather front coming through but we managed to catch close to a dozen fish with two pushing 7lbs. Capt Mark is an excellent guide on many of the southern Florida lakes that we will definitely book again.

Catching fish with Mark Rose When we arrived, we heard people coming to shore saying , “the water is murky”, “they’re not biting today” , “only caught one or two”. When we met up with Captain Mark, he prepared us to have patience. Mark brought us to clear water and put us on the fish. We caught at least 15 fish, had some laughs, and learned a bit about the lake and a lot about fishing with artificial.Would certainly recommend ! Very cool experience! Bass on the first cast! If you're looking to catch bass on Lake Okeechobee, Mark Rose is the man for that! My nephew and I (which I never fished with lures before) caught fish after fish from the first cast on with topwater plugs! My nephew got his PB bass that was close to 6lbs. This will become our February tradition when they come down for vacation every year. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

1st time on Okeechobee Capatian Mark Rose, answered every txt & phone call promptly. Was on time for our pick up at 6am. Mark's boat is a Ranger multi species with a 350hp Mercury. Super clean and a very stable fishing platform in rough water. Mark had his work cut out for him. The evening temps were cooling the lake & bite down. Despite the conditions I was able to boat 7 largemouth. My wife also enjoyed the day with Mark & I. Mark kept me a cast away from the fish & she finished her book! We look forward to our next outing with Mark.

Mark is a great and knowledgeable Capt. and his new boat rides like a "Cadillac" over the water and is a beauty with lots of room to move about and loads of places to pick a spot to fish from. We motored over in his new "Cadillac" to some really great areas on the South side of Lake Okeechobee. Within 5 minutes, we had bass in the boat on both a top popper and dancing fluke. That scenario continued for a few hours. When the fog rolled in, it felt surreal. So peaceful, quiet and relaxing. When the bite slowed down, Capt. Mark moved us to another secluded area where we again began to catch again. All in all it was a beautiful day on the lake and Capt. Mark was very hospitable, patient and friendly. I asked my brother if he wanted to say anything in this review and he replied "My brother and I went out with Capt. Mark Rose and we loved him". Great job Capt.! It was a beautiful day. Capt Mark Rose - with my three sons Capt. Mark was great. Very helpful and set the appropriate expectations given the current water temps. He took my sons out and allowed the to have a memorable experience and catch their bucket-list peacock bass. When fish started to swarm he stayed out longer not letting the fish get away..

Cold day in Florida Was out bass fishing with Capt. Mark Rose yesterday. Being I was down in Florida I was hoping for a nice warm sunny day of fishing. Mother Nature had a different idea. It was 50F with 22 mph winds. Despite the conditions Mark did a great job of still getting me on the fish. His new 622 Ranger boat handled the waves great and kept us dry and I was able to land a new personal best largemouth.

Peacock Bass Mark always finds this fish. This time I brought my son and we caught over 40 Peacock Bass in the Everglades. I would have caught more if I had paid more attention to the line versus the big Iguanas in the trees. :) I highly recommend Mark for your next fishing adventure.

Great trip as we.caught fish almost every cast. My grandson out-fished me as always and was excited to catch Largemoth, Peacock Bass, Bowlin, Oscar, gar and Mayan Cichlid. What a fun day!! We can't wait to come back!!

I'm tired, I can't fish any more! Capt., Mark Rose said on the beginning of our ride to the fishing area," Terry, you're going to be awful, tired catching fish today". Two hours later, this 70-year old's, arms, back, and whole body ached. I decided to sit and let my husband take over the bow, to fish. Mark was very attentive to my lack of fishing experience and gave me the fishing trip of a lifetime. Can't wait till next time.

Peacock Bass Bonanza I spent two half days fishing for Peacock Bass in the southern Florida canals with Captain Mark Rose.it was AMAZING! In two four hour days we caught 100 bass. I have fished with Mark a number of times for different species and he always puts me on the fish. He is an amazing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about where and how to catch fish and he is also fun to fish with. I highly recommend Captain Mark Rose for a great day of fishing.

Peacock Bass in the Everglades Captain Mark Rose met us for an afternoon Peacock bass trip. He said the bite had been hot for the previous three weeks and he was right. It didn't take 5 minutes for the first fish to be caught, steady action throughout. They do a great job of staying on top of the action, all you have to do is get a line wet. Had a blast!

" I hope I catch one" Mid - March 2022 Put Enga in the bow, she hoped that she would catch one peacock. By the end of the day, bait all gone, back sore, arms aching, it was time to quit fishing. Engas total for the day was over 50 peacocks. The old man in the stern caught some also. Capt. Mark is a great teacher of the finer points of fishing and patient to learners. Peacock Bass Heaven! I had a terrific afternoon outing in the Everglades with Mark Rose in mid-February. We boated 75-80 peacock bass, along with maybe a dozen other "nuisance" fish which were still a blast to catch. The largest of the peacocks was about 4-4 1/2 pounds, though there's the potential for much larger ones. It was all accomplished in a just a half-day trip. It's sort of a cliche to say, but my arms were tired at the end of it all. We were working jerkbaits aggressively around lily pads, and the peacocks were going wild for them. Mark had dozens of shiners in the live well, but no need for them on this day! I appreciated Mark's knowledge and enthusiasm, and was impressed by the top quality of his boat, gear, tackle, etc. The Kistler rods provided were excellent, comparable to my G. Loomis lineup. I'm a true tackle junkie and normally would have closely inspected the reels as well, but we were on the fish so fast that I didn't get to check them out! Suffice it to say there were no problems bringing the fish in. I was also impressed with Mark's selection of Megabass lures, although I'll not divulge any more details for the sake of the peacock bass! Overall, a first rate trip, and well worth the 90 minute drive from Naples. I hope to along bring my son when I make a return trip in 2023!

Slamming Peacock Bass Capt. Mark Rose put us on Peacock Bass immediately during our trip to the Everglades. Between the three of us we caught 50 to 60 bass in three hours, with a few over 5 pounds. Everglades Peacock 2/24/2022 I had a very enjoyable fishing experience with Capt. Mark Rose fishing for peacock bass in the everglades! Nonstop action for 6 hours! We hooked and landed at least 40 - 45 peacock bass, had at least that many bites that I missed setting the hook, and had 6 0r 8 bigger ones that tore off or pulled free! Mark worked very hard to make it a day for me to remember! I'm looking forward to my Lake Erie smallmouth trip I have planned for this coming May! Thanks again Capt. Mark!

Fishing With Mark Rose Our fishing adventures with Mark Rose have all been fabulous! We have fished with him on Lake Erie and in the Everglades. Mark is the ultimate guide. Mark Rose was top tier from start to finish. We wanted a few nice Peacock bass as a group. Mark knew where the fish were and made some changes after speaking to us on the phone the night before. Mark Rose Had a great 6 hr trip on Okeechobee. Mark recommended soft plastics instead of shiners that day, and he was right on. Had. about 20 nice bass, including a 7, two 6s, and three between 5 and 5.5 lbs. Had one break me off with 20lb braid. Mark knows where to find them. Highly recommend.

Three generations We went out on January 17th and we caught over 50 fish. Everyone caught their fill and it left us with great memories. Captain Mark Rose was excellent with a good dry sense of humor. Great stuff.

Captain Mark Rose Captain Mark Rose went out of his way to make our Christmas Peacock Bass fishing trip more than we could ever expect. My 12 and 10 year old grandsons and their father and I caught 91 fish in a 3-4 hour time period. Yes, 91 fish!!! Capt. Mark Rose is a ringer for finding fish I’ve used Bass Online five times now and four of those with Capt. Mark Rose. Today we went out in the Everglades to wrangle some Peacocks. Capt. Mark guided us to catch 109 fish with multiple doubles to show us how great this awesome fishery could be. He told us the fishing was good but wow was it ever. Capt. Mark Rose We came out to Okeechobee on a Saturday and it was extremely hot and we didn’t catch anything. He offered to take us in one of the canals for peacocks the next afternoon. He knew exactly where to go and what to use. We killed it. Caught about 20-25 with the biggest being about 4 1/2 pounds. Awesome experience!

Capt. Mark Rose-Catch Fish Instead of Going For A Boat Ride Mark puts his customers first ! Instead of us driving 1-1/2 hours to where he was (where the fish were not biting) he called us the day before our booking and decided to change the plan to a location he knew the action would be good. Instead he drove the hour and a half as our travel time was cut in half. All I can say is the day could not have been better. Great morning on Okeechobee! Captain Mark Rose was our guy. Got us right out on the water and we went to work. Pulled up the first bass within minutes! He knows the sweet spots because there were a couple other boats around us and they weren't reeling them in like we were. I had a blast on my first ever bass fishing trip, catching 6! I give Captain Mark Rose 5 stars, however I had to take one star off the overall rating because I booked a crappie fishing trip and we got bass instead. Had a great time, just not what I booked.

Lake O shiner fishing Went out with Captain Mark Rose 3/5 in the middle of a cold front. We got to Slim's early at 6:30, and Mark was already there ready to go. We got out early and were in fish the whole time. No wild shiners available that day, but still boated better than a dozen. Put on our last minnow at 11, caught tie-breaker bass, and Mark unleashed 250 horses for a thrilling ride finale back to base. See you at Erie this summer! Can't wait!

Lake Okeechobee Capt. Mark Rose did an excellent job figuring out what pattern we needed to use and put me on some great bass fishing! Stormy weather forced us off of the Big O for a short time but we got back after it when the storm passed and settled in for a solid day of fishing. I would recommend him as a guide and would go with him again in a heartbeat, he was also a great guy to be around for 8 hours!
