East Wall Quality Largemouth Bass- Lake Okeechobee

East Wall Quality Largemouth Bass

Hello this is Capt Mark Rose with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report.

I always enjoy fishing out of Clewiston when there isn’t a major Lake Okeechobee tournament going out of there. We were on a split day, looking for some East Wall Quality Largemouth Bass on Lake Okeechobee.

I had the pleasure to fish with Tom and Rick. They traveled to Florida from South Carolina. They wanted to go shiner fishing for the first half of the day. We bought 4 dozen shiners and off to the east wall we went. We caught about 30 fish off the wall. Lots of quality bass.

After that, we came in for a lunch break. We then went back out again to find some larger fish on artificial for the rest of the trip. We fished Belle Glade and the west wall pretty good. The total for the last part of the trip was 25 fish.

Watermelon Red Flake senkos is an effective bait when the water is clean and the sun is higher in the sky. The free floating fluke also worked really well. It is always fun to throw out a fluke, let it sink and then watch your line jump and run away.

For their first time on Lake Okeechobee, we had a great day. I am looking forward to seeing and fishing with them again.
