Keep up with the Stock Market or Catch Fish? Why not both…
Hi, this is Captain Doug Jansen reporting from Lake Okeechobee.
Today, we had cloudy skies and about 80 degrees outside with low winds and really good day to be on the water. My guest today was Gary Post originally from New Jersey, this is actually his first time ever out bass fishing!
It was sure quite the experience for him today. He said, he enjoyed it very much, it was very educational experience and just loved being out on the lake. To see all the wildlife and everything was should an added bounce he never expected.
Gary is also a stockbroker, so it was entertaining watching him answer telephone calls and keep up with the stock market. As well, trying to reel in fish, which was quite the experience for both of us watching it happen.
We fished with wild shiners for bait and estimated the catch to be somewhere around (50) fifty bass caught today. We had one bass over (6 1/2 lbs) six and a half pounds and (3) three over (5 lbs) five pounds and several in the (3 lb) three-pound range. So it was just a great all around day, and what a great first experience for him. You could even say we may have spoiled him on the first time out…lol
Tight lines until next time, this is Captain Doug Jansen.
