South Florida Slam Fest
Storms can do two things to Florida Fishing: shut it down or turn it on. Well, on this South Florida Slam Fest, things got interesting.
Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with Ben, Mike, and Cooter, traveling from Arkansas. They were excited to get into some of the best South Florida Fishing action on the Lake Ida Chain of Lakes.
Here in South Florida, the weather conditions can change quite often. We were able to make it happen, and they had a fantastic time out there on the water.
Ben, Mike, and Cooter put over 30 fish in the boat. They had a slamfest catching peacock bass, largemouth bass, and clown knifefish. You do not see those kinds of days on the water very often.
A trip like this has them fueled up for more Florida Fishing action. Lake Okeechobee is next on their list. I look forward to creating more memories, one fish at a time, with them!

Captain Mike Groshon was raised in Northern Virginia, he grew up fishing lakes and rivers in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia then like most headed south for warmer weather and bigger fish!
Among playing music and racing cars, Mike always had a love for fishing. Mike is married with two children and is a real all-around nice guy. He and his family moved to Florida to follow Mike’s dream of becoming a fishing guide on Lake Okeechobee.
Mike is sponsored by Columbia, Bass Assassin Lures, Abu Garcia, and Fitzgerald Rods. To go fishing with Capt Mike, click here!
