Captain Miley had the pleasure of fishing with Josh his dad Brad and his brother Brian. They were traveling from Houston, Texas on a Florida vacation. They spent some time in Islamorada before traveling up to Miami. While they were here they had to knock some activities off their bucket list. One of them was peacock bass fishing on this urban lake system. They were in store for an outstanding and phenomenal day on the water.
Miami Peacock Bass
Josh, Brad, and Brian spent 6 hours on the water with Captain Miley. Air temperatures were warm during the peak of the day reaching into the 90s. Water temperatures were also in the 90s. Conditions were clear with a nice breeze creating a ripple on the water. This provided these gentlemen a great opportunity to crush some peacock bass. Live bait is the best way to do that when coming here for a short period. As a result, these gentlemen caught 30 peacock bass weighing up to 4 pounds. Quality fish made it to the boat making their dream trip a true success.
Captain Miley is looking forward to their next visit to South Florida!
Just shortly after this amazing fishing trip, Captain Miley adventure out on Airport Lakes or Blue Lagoon again. This time he had the pleasure of fishing with Tony who was traveling from North Carolina. Tony enjoyed a 6-hour fishing trip for peacock bass. Conditions were the same as last trip with water and air temperatures in the 90s. The rain came in strong early in the morning but that did not stop the bass from biting.
When it comes to peacock bass fishing, you have to be patient sometimes. The slower you fish the better chances you have at catching big peacock bass. Fishing was great today and Tony put some nice fish in the boat. Tony caught 15 quality peacock bass with the biggest weighing 3 pounds. The best method to catch these bass would be live bait. You can also catch them on artificial baits like topwater torpedos or whopper poppers and jerk baits.
Tony had a great day on the water and is looking forward to getting back out there again soon. Captain Miley is looking forward to their next adventure!
