This is Captain Steve Niemoeller with today’s fishing report from Lake Toho in Kissimmee Florida.
Today my charter trip was with Ben, Michelle and Ryan from Michigan. We had a short (4) four-hour trip on Lake Toho. We fished mainly wild shiners, the day started off unpredictably slow. The fish seem to not be feeding all that well, while we could get them to chase bait, they were not much for eating first thing in the morning. We ended the day with much better action and landed about a dozen bass.
When it’s a little slow fishing, nothing restores the confidence like a BIG fish. The highlight of the day was Ben catching a (8lb-3oz) eight pound three once large-mouth bass. It was the biggest they had ever seen and the biggest he had ever caught in his life!
It ended up being a really good day, its amazing the feeling we get from catching those big fish. The excitement today was at an all time high, matched by the beautiful Florida weather made for in creditable outing for all.
I do believe they will be back from Michigan once again to try it again sometime soon!
Till next time, I’ll see you on the water…Capt Steve.
