Captain Devin had the pleasure of fishing with Michael, his daughter Erica, and their friend Tim. They were traveling to Central Florida looking to get away. While doing so, bass fishing on Lake Toho was a great outdoor activity they could all partake in. Warm weather and water made for some action on both live and artificial baits.
When looking to cash in on the action here in Central Florida, you have to look for submerged hydrilla beds. Hydrilla is an exceptional cover to focus on the largemouth bass. The main lake was holding some nice bass in 4-5 feet of water. Artificial lures caught bass throughout the trip. Rattle traps and swim jigs were the best bait.

Tim came in strong with a bass weighing over 4-pounds. That is a healthy fish for this time of year. Michael, Erica, and Tim all had a fantastic time in late summer Toho fishing. Captain Devin is looking forward to getting them out again on their next fishing trip!
Just shortly after this fishing adventure, Captain Devin was back out for one more. This time, he had the pleasure of fishing with Richard and Thomas on a fishing trip filled with big bass. Summer months do not generally produce larger quality fish but this year has been special. The bite may have been slower than normal but the bites that did come in were bigger bass.
When late summer Toho fishing, the hotter water temperatures slowed the bite. Richard and Thomas explored Lake Toho for 6-hours managing to catch some decent numbers. They landed 3 largemouth bass weighing over 5 pounds. Most of the bass on this fishing trip was caught on wild shiners. Hydrilla submerged just under the water was the best area and structure to fish.
Richard and Thomas could not have been more excited about their fishing trip. It was a great time for them to reel in some summertime fish. Captain Devin is looking forward to getting them back out on the water next time in Kissimmee, FL!
