Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Florida
This is Capt Brian Brown with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report.
The year is going by quick. February is already here and my repeat, John, is coming out with me today. We embarked on a Lake Saint Clair to Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Florida Adventure.
Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing is much different from any other lake in the nation. This time he brought a surprise. He brought down his tournament partner to experience how amazing the Lake is.
Even though they both love artificial, if you come to Lake Okeechobee, you have to try the wild shiner fishing. They bought 6 dozen shiners from Jarrad’s bait and tackle store, up on the North end of the lake. We made our way down to Harney Pond for an 8 hour adventure.
I was really unsure on how the bite was going to be, since we were on the third day of a cold front. The front dropped the water temperature to 61 degrees, but luckily we had blue bird skies that gave the sun more room to warm the water up.
Right away we started catching fish, which I was content with. Time does fly by when you are having fun. They ran through all their shiners about halfway through the trip. They could have been more ecstatic to have the day they had plus the opportunity to catch a bunch on artificial. They caught some decent fish, one right around 4 pounds on a stick worm.
Overall though, the lake is in great shape for this season and the fishing just like the weather is warming up.
Come catch the fish of a lifetime.
