This is Capt Steve with todays fishing report for Rodman Reservoir.

Florida Fishing Rodman Reservoir with live wild caught shiners is one of the most effective techniques to catch quality largemouth bass. It is that time of year that all the big fish are moving into their spawning grounds. It is the perfect time to catch some truly healthy fish. Today, Mark was only Florida fishing for the Big Bass.

We were fishing with 10-12 inch shiners and letting them run up underneath the mats. Fishing shiners for the first time can be increasingly more difficult. Patience is always the key to fishing live bait because it takes the fish more time to consume the bait.

Mark had a great day catching quality largemouth and I am looking forward to his return.

On the second trip that day, Les, Sharon and Cindy caught them up. Les caught his personal best weighing 6 pounds 4 ounces. Sharon and Cindy also caught fish weighing roughly 4 pounds 8 ounces. The quality all around is up right now on the reservoir.

Windy conditions started to pick up right at the end of the trip, producing a couple more bites. The water is quite clear right now with 5 foot visibility.

Come on down to fish this amazing fishery. The last spawns are coming up and spring time is right around the corner. Making the bite just a little bit sweeter.
