Amazing Family Trip on Lake Okeechobee- Harney Pond
This is Capt Brian Brown with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report.
How’s everybody doing? I had an Amazing Family Trip on Lake Okeechobee- Harney Pond today. A father, a mother, and a 30-year-old son. The Block family crushed them today.
We had a great day. Started off doing some live bait fishing out of Harney Pond. We only had 4 hours so we had to throw the shiners first because I knew it would be effective quickly.
They caught a bunch of quality fish. There was plenty of action during the whole fishing trip. We also knew how to keep it interesting, catching catfish, gar, and a couple of mudfish.
They had fun with live bait and wanted to try artificial. The only problem was that there was a Costa Sunglasses Bass Fishing tournament all weekend with 250 boats out on the lake. We made our way around those guys. You never want to irritate competitors fishing for money.
Once we got settled and found a good spot, they caught two fish back to back on a chatter bait. One was a 4 and the other was a 3-pounder. We definitely got some dirty looks from those tournament anglers.
