Captain Miley had the pleasure of fishing with Bob, his son Ryan and Kevin on the Lake Ida Chain of Lakes. They were in store for an excellent day on the water. It was a quick 4-hour fishing trip which is perfect during the summer months here in Florida. One of the benefits of this chain of lakes is that you have several locations that can be productive for fishing.

Bob, Ryan, and Kevin had a blast fishing this summer. They caught 15 peacock bass weighing up to 4 pounds. Rain and overcast conditions kept the bite from being strong but they still managed to put some quality bass in the boat. Water temperatures on this trip were 82 degrees with air temperatures at 89 degrees.

Always another Adventure Ahead

It wasn’t long after this fishing adventure that Captain Miley went out again for another incredible day on the water. This time, the Florida Feed Group got to experience the true potential of what the Lake Ida Chain had to offer. Sometimes slower days allow for some better fish to be caught.

Summer months promote a slower technique and method in order to catch a wide variety of fish. The Lake Ida Chain of Lakes has an abundance of wildlife along with exotic species. Summer Lake Ida Fishing is a great way to bring a group of people together. The feed group had an amazing day on the water on their quick 4-hour fishing trip.

You can’t beat putting several quality exotics in the boat. The Feed Group caught a quality Clown Knife Fish, which is a sought-after species when visiting South Florida. They also caught several quality peacock bass along with some mayan cichlids. Conditions were very hot which helped the bite turn on for the peacock bass. Air temperatures were at almost 95 degrees. Early morning fishing is always the best during these summer months.
