Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass Fishing Adventure- Belle Glade FL

Hello this is Capt Mark Rose with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report.

Dan and Chris escaped to beautiful South Florida from Chicago, where it is 30 degrees. While they were warming up in the sunshine state, they figured they wanted to go on a Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass Fishing Adventure, out of Belle Glade, FL.

Both gentlemen have never been on Lake Okeechobee, so they were in for a treat. It was a great adventure, even though it started out slow.

Dan and Chris read about the shiner fishing out on Lake Okeechobee and knew they had to try it. They picked up 6 dozen shiners from the one and only, Slims Fish Camp.

Fishing conditions were great today with the water temperature at 74 degrees. There was a slight wind blowing but nothing to make a significant difference. As the water continues to get warmer, the better the bite will get.

The shiners attracted the little fish to start, but once 11 o’clock came around, it really turned on for us. Chris and Dave both caught their Personal Best. Chris’s PB was 7 pounds, 11 oz and Dave’s PB was 7 pounds, 1 oz. Those are the type of fish you want to catch when you take a Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass Fishing Adventure.

One of the best accomplishments and memory a guide can have is to have both patrons catch their personal best. Having two monster fish like that on the boat really completes the day. The boat was filled with quality fish ranging anywhere from 4 to 7 pounds. A dream day on Lake Okeechobee if you ask me.
