Can you fish off Naples Pier?
  • You can fish from the Pier without a license 24 hours a day as it has a bulk fishing license that covers all users. Even non-fishing enthusiasts can enjoy the pier. It’s a great spot to watch wildlife.
Do you need a fishing license to fish in Naples?

You do not need a license to fish from Naples Pier, since the City of Naples maintains a blanket license for the pier. If you are fishing from the beach next to the pier or anywhere from land, or if you are out in a private boat, you must have a Florida fishing license.

You do not need a license to fish with a Saltwater charter captain Naples, since the saltwater captains have a blanket license that is issued by state of Florida for clients. If you are out in a private boat, you must have a Florida fishing license.

You do need a license to fish in freshwater in Naples. Anywhere in the State of Florida a license is required. Even if fishing with freshwater captain, a license is required as the state law does not apply to freshwater captains.

Where is the best spot to fish?

Golden Gate Park canals can be an overwhelming place to navigate which is just a short drive from downtown Naples. The canals have been there since 1970 and presently it has been developed with a great concrete boat ramp and people can enjoy pedal-boating, canoeing, kayaking, powerboating, and fishing. People fish here mainly peacock bass, but can also catch Snook, Mayan cichlid, and even largemouth bass.

Today, the main area lakes and additional basin that are connected to more than 10 miles of canalsThe encompassing body of water with all of the canals and lakes have enthralled people in general for quite a long time.
The Canals also offers guests the chance to appreciate paddle and sailing in the urban area as it is a great park for families and is enforced by FWC.

Are there alligators in Naples & Marco Island canals?

Occasionally, there will be one spotted in the Marco River and even the canals of Marco Island. Additionally you may even see a crocodile… Alligators are mostly reported in canals during August and September. It is not uncommon. Alligators are historic creatures that can be enjoyed as part of the natural beauty of Southwest Florida.

How do people dress for fishing charter?

In layers is best, but fishing is casual. A sundress for ladies with bikini underneath is not uncommon. Khaki shorts for guys is as dressed up as anyone ever gets, long pants work if you’re not using to the sun. In the same vein, there are no “styles.” Get comfortable with whatever dress code is the norm. But always try to wear light colors as they are cooler.

Mark Rose, Good Fishing

Southwest Guides
★★★★★
Even though the weather was too cold for really hot fishing and many fishing parties were getting skunked, our guide, Mark Rose got us onto really nice fish. Cichlids, largemouth (some three to four pound),peacocks, oscars, and some enormous bowfin. He he knew ho to find the fish. He also to took us into some nice quiet gator country and showed us the sights. We had great day! Thanks Mark
