Meet Ryan and Alex, they were traveling from Topeka, Kansas looking to vacation in Central Florida. While doing so, Florida bass fishing was on their mind. As a result, they set up a Lake Toho bass fishing charter.
Captain Brent Nelson had the pleasure of taking them out on the water. They had a fantastic fishing trip. Alex wanted to throw artificial baits, while Ryan, dad, was content fishing with shiners. Either way, everyone on board caught numbers of bass on this fishing trip.
Alex enjoyed catching largemouth on a variety of artificial baits. The most productive were swim jigs, carolina rigs, and senco. A focus on submerged sparse hydrilla was the best bet at putting fish in the boat. Even Ryan had some fun catching fish on a senco.
After spending some time with artificial baits, they both switched over to live bait. They got into a school of fish when the sun started to go down. It was non-stop and the action was amazing. Every cast yielded a quality largemouth bass.
Unfortunately, they did have several nice bites in the mix but the fish did not eat the bait correctly. As a result, the fish never made it to the boat. All-in-all, they caught several largemouth bass in the 3.5-4 pound range with over 35 fish total.
Ryan and Alex had a fantastic time on the water. Captain Brent is looking forward to seeing them back again in the near future!
Just shortly after this fishing trip, Mike and Matt explored what Lake Toho Bass Fishing had to offer. They were traveling from Canada looking to get out on the water and catch some Florida bass. Captain Brent had the pleasure of fishing with these guys.
Lake Toho has been producing some excellent fishing this time of year. Artificial baits and live baits were both very effective. Mike and Matt caught bass all trip long over submerged grass beds.
As always, when looking for larger Florida bass, wild-caught live shiners is the best method to go. Mike and Matt both caught their personal best largemouth bass on this fishing trip with fish over 4 pounds.
No big giants were caught on these trips but you can tell the fishing is about to get good. Mike and Matt had a great time catching over 15 largemouth on their trip.
Captain Brent is looking forward to getting back out on the water soon!
