October has been a great month for bass fishing in Florida. You may not catch a giant bass but the numbers of fish are there. According to our local experts, the bass seems to be in a transition phase. We are in between the summer pattern and the pre-spawn pattern. In just a few months, we will begin to see fresh fish from the lake. Shortly after that when the water temperatures get just right, the trophy female bass will begin to appear.
Check out where Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing is during this month:
Fishing with Captain Mark Shepard
Captain Mark Shepard had the pleasure of fishing with Brett and Greg. They were a father-son duo looking to spend some quality time bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee. Captain Mark took them out to explore Clewiston, FL where the fishing has been steady. This time of year is always unpredictable but when getting out with a local expert, you can expect a great time.
October is a great month for light tackle fishing. Break out your spinning rods with lighter braid and enjoy the action. Brett and Greg had a blast catching numbers of largemouth bass on this fishing trip. Both live bait and artificial baits were productive. The biggest fish caught weighed in at 3 pounds.
Can’t beat this October action for a quick 4-hour fishing trip. You can tell that all the fish caught were coming fresh from the lake. Get ready to make your plans as the fishing is going to get hot soon. Brett and Greg are looking forward to coming back and catching more largemouth.
As well, Captain Mark is looking forward to their next adventure!
Fishing with Captain Mark Rogers
It was not long after this fishing trip that Captain Mark Rogers was out on the water. He had the pleasure of fishing with Bryan and his significant other. They were traveling to Florida from Missouri looking to cash in on some bass fishing action.
Fishing conditions were perfect. Winds were dead calm in the morning. As the day went on, a slight breeze picked up helping with the action. Artificial and live bait was used to land some nice fish in the boat. We could not find anything of substantial size but everyone had a great time landing fish.
Bryan and his significant other caught a good mixture of fish from largemouth bass, bowfin, gar and more. The action kept everyone intuned and excited for more fishing. They are looking forward to coming back soon for the upcoming bass fishing season.
Captain Mark also confirms that the fish seem to be in a transition period that will lead to some excellent bass fishing ahead! Captain Mark is also looking forward to getting out on the water with this lovely couple again soon!
