Here is the latest Lake Erie Bass Fishing Update:

Captain Mark Rose had the pleasure of fishing with his repeat and return client Rob. Rob was traveling from Ohio looking to cash in on Return Spring Smallmouth Fishing 3another incredible day of fishing. Last fall, Rob explore Lake Erie and had an awesome fishing trip with Captain Mark. He told Mark that he would be back in the spring and here he was looking to catch some quality smallmouth bass.

Luckily, the conditions played in his favor and smallmouth bass were biting. Rob spent 2 afternoons on the water and caught over 40 smallmouth bass. The average size was between 3-4 pounds. Most of the fish were caught on drop shot style baits such as tubes and jig heads. Presque Isle Bay was the hot spot especially in water depths of 8-11 feet. The bass are getting ready for their spawn as the water warms. Water temperatures ranged from 49-53 degrees on these fishing trips.

Rob had a fantastic time on the water. Captain Mark is looking forward to fishing with Rob again in the near future!

Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Mark explored Lake Erie yet again. This time, he had the pleasure of fishing with Scott and his son Nate. Nate was home from school looking to adventure out and catch a smallmouth bass over 4-pounds. Luckily, he chose Captain Mark, who is known for catching big smallmouth bass. Yet again, the fishing conditions paired up and produced big time. Nate caught what he was searching for on the first cast. It was a 5.15 pound smallmouth bass which is now his personal best. All the fish were caught in Presque Isle Bay with several different techniques. The top techniques included drop shot, tubes, galidas grubz, and hard plastic jerk baits.

When you adventure out on a 6-hour fishing trip, you can expect to catch numbers and quality of bass. As the water and the weather continues to warm, the better the bass fishing will get. Scott and Nate had a great time on Lake Erie and are looking forward to their next adventure with Captain Mark!
