Florida Grass Fishing

One of the best times to come fishing on Lake Okeechobee is when they are actively biting. Even though the lake fishing well all year round, these winter months are the best time to come Florida Grass Fishing.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Steve, Bill and Frank. They wanted to come fish Lake Okeechobee to experience what it has to offer.

On this trip, conditions were chilly but the air temperature was nice. Live bait was the best method to catching these Florida largemouth bass. Winds were blowing out of the south east on this trip leaving a ripple on the water.

Grass was the main structure we fished. These gentlemen caught several quality bass going through 5 dozen live shiners. The best two largemouth bass were 5 pounds.

We had a great time out on the water and I am looking forward to fishing with them again soon. Lake Okeechobee is heating up; don’t miss out on your adventure next time visiting Florida!
