Light Bite Smallmouth Fishing Day
Lake Erie is an amazing place to go fishing for smallmouth bass. Sometimes you can have a Light Bite Smallmouth Fishing Day but you can still have a lot of fun.
Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with Jack Robinson. He wanted to come to experience some Bass Fishing Lake Erie before the weather takes a turn.
The heat and humidity rose on this trip pushing the bass out deeper. We are hoping for some cooler temperatures making for a better bite.
We still caught over 15 smallmouth bass weighing up to 3 pounds. The bass is holding in 6 to 35 feet of water. These fish think it is summertime but it surely isn’t.
It is only going to get better before it completely shuts down. You can catch the bass on spinnerbaits, Ned rigs or even drop shots.
You can catch these bass right now on the Northeast side of Presque Isle Bay while the temperature drops. If the temperature stays warm, they will move back out into the middle.
I am looking forward to fishing with Jack again very soon. We had a great trip out on the water.
