Hidden Monster Bass Fishing Adventures
Miami is known for its wonderful beaches but not the hidden monster bass fishing adventures it can provide inland. When traveling to South Florida, come experience what the fishing has to offer.
I had the pleasure of fishing with Pat Foster, his wife Coco and his young son. We explored the Miami Falls Canal System in search for the elusive peacock bass.
Pat is a water patrol officer in the summer time in Austin, Texas and wanted to take a vacation with his family to South Florida. Peacock bass has been a must experience for his family and they are glad to finally make it happen.
On out short 4 hour trip, we had a lot of action from all the major species of fish in the canal system. We had great numbers of peacock bass, mayan cichlids, midas gold fish and monster largemouth bass.
You do not always catch monster largemouth bass in the summer time but this trip provided one. A monster 8 pound bass was caught using live bait. He came up from the depths and showed us his magnitude.
They had a really great time catching the array of Florida species and that monster largemouth. I know they will be back soon and are heading up to Cocoa Beach to enjoy the Florida Sunshine up there.
The water temperature is at 88 degrees and the water level is up 2 feet. The fish were biting and we hope to see you on the water next time!
