Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass fishing report with Captain Brian Brown
Hello everyone this is the Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass fishing report with Captain Brian Brown, and I was joined with James and Mandy from Wisconsin, They came and met me at slims fish camp in Belle glade there on the south end of Lake Okeechobee. We did an afternoon trip. 12 to 6 and they wanted to split the day up they want to do an artificial session. We did Grab a couple dozen shiners for backup in case artificial wasn't so good we headed out, and we caught some little fish James did catch one real nice 4 and a half pounder on a skinny dipper top water bait. Just running it through the needle grass and stuff up there, and caught a few other fish on stick worms and and stuff like that, but nothing real big and we decided about 4 o'clock that we might as well use up some of the shiners since we had them. We went up inside around some reed heads and it was pretty much game on man. we went through two dozen shiners in like about an hour and 15 minutes. It seemed like every cast that they they made a cork was going down, and they had me running there for a while with the shiner fishing, it was great and Mandy caught a nice five and a half pounder and a couple of 4 pounders go with it, and it seemed like literally every cast she was catching a fish there so that was good to see, that good time out on the water and for the major cold front coming through that we had air temperature went up in the eighties down to 70 and we had a real stiff Northeast wind howling out there made it real hard trying to control the boat here and there with the artificial bite, but we were able to anchor up and kind of get out of the wind during the shiner session, it definitely proved worth while to have a few of them shiners along which you could get for anybody coming down to and then they're a little bit expensive, but it's always good to have some along cause a bass will always eat a shiner no matter what specially on a cold day like today was but it was a good day again on Lake Okeechobee and and looking forward to seeing everybody else coming down for the winter, This was your Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass fishing report.
