Good day fishing at Okeechobee

Hey this is Captain Dave Lauer with your May 7th fishing report.

Fished out of Belle Glade (South end of Lake Okeechobee) today with Joe, he comes all the way from Arkansas. He is on vacations down here...staying in Delray Beach for a few days. Joe is from Bull Shoals Lake and used to fish Rocky Shore at Clear Lake. Today we started off with 2-dozen shiners and burned them in an hour. We caught fish up to 4 pounds. Bites were so fast and furious that we went through live bait so fast. We decided to do some artificial close to the outside edge and he caught one close to 6 pounds on swim bait, we probably ended up with 10-12 fish. Good day fishing at Okeechobee...wind was calm first but it picked up at north in the afternoon. Let's see what the weekend brings...

That's it for today...I am out! Talk to you later.
