Join the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the Orlando Magic on March 30 for Florida Outdoor Night and FanFest at 4 p.m. in Orlando. This event, at the Amway Center, is free and open to the public. The event offers participants an opportunity to talk to wildlife biologists, fisheries experts and FWC law enforcement officers and shows families what lies beyond the world of electronics. Today’s world buzzes with electronics, from e-readers and portable video games to smart phones and the world of social media. Technology is all around us and children and families are increasingly disconnected from the outdoors. Outdoor Night and Fan Fest participants will learn about Florida’s native wildlife by experiencing hands-on activities such as Safari-in-a-Box, Animal Olympics, FWC’s Florida Wildlife Exhibit and other activities. Talk to FWC Law Enforcement and K-9 officers, get tips about boating safety and discover outdoor programs such as the FWC’s TrophyCatch, the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN) and Florida’s incredible freshwater fisheries. The FWC encourages young people and families to participate in these interactive outdoor experiences and hopes this event will motivate the public to care for the fish and wildlife resources unique to Florida. The Orlando Magic has a special ticket offer to the Magic vs. Toronto game following the street event. These special tickets include access to post-game lay-ups on the Magic court. A portion of the ticket price will be donated to the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network. For information about this special ticket opportunity, visit www.orlandomagic.com/outdoor and choose Magic vs. Toronto game, click “Find Tickets” and enter the special offer code OUTDOOR. Your ticket purchase will help this network of partners bring outdoor experiences to children and families for years to come. For questions concerning Orlando Magic tickets, please call 407-916-2749.
