Karl and Brad 4 days in South Florida

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

323-003

Today I had the pleasure of doing an afternoon trip with Karl and Brad two brothers which were down for 4 days to have a good time and catch lots of bass. Capt Tony had them out for the first three days, they had such a great time they decided last minute to go out on there final day. Capt Tony had a return customer coming in for a full day and could not accommodate them, the office looked over the schedule and suggested that they try the afternoon bite with me.

They decided to go in the afternoon after when I finish my morning trip. I picked them up at a local hotel, it was quite rainy, I was not sure of how fishing was going to be because of the rain. They were not concerned about the weather, off we went looking for the afternoon bite. I have to admit, I was excited as they were. I really like the late bite, it just seems I always do good and on this trip it was no different.

Not sure if it was the weather, but both managed to catch a couple of nice fish in the four pound range and managed to catch up to 40 fish in a short afternoon. These guys could really fish and we were appreciative to have them!

Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

The Valencia Palms Anglers Association of Delray Beach, FL

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Today was a good day, we had a six boat trip go out in the Everglades. Yes, six boats is not a problem at all we have the largest staff of guides in the state. Six boats are really a pleasure, it’s not to big but just right size to provide them with the personal attention they needed.

With the water coming down fast in the Everglades, the fishing has been red hot with excellent numbers of fish being caught. Bigger fish have been hit or miss, but we are still managing to get a few good chance at them during the day. As you can see from the picture above, this group of anglers manged to catch over 400 bass in just 6 hours.

Most of the fish were in the one to three pound range, which typicality happens when the water first comes down. Each day the bigger fish will start biting better, but WOW how can you complain about 400 plus fish!

Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

Snakehead Fishing in South Florida

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

South Florida Snakehead Fishing

Today we had the pleasure of going after a new exotic fish called the Snake-head.

We started the day searching around, as the day went on we found the type of cover the snakeheads where holding in. By by the end of day we caught over 15 snake heads all on topwater. Let me tell you, if you are looking for a strong fighting fish you may want to try fishing for the snakehead. They jump straight out of water and are always trying to shake your hook.

Fishing for the snake head is a blast!

If you are visiting South or Central Florida for work or vacation and want to experience the best bass fishing that there is to offer then please give us a call. We can be reached at (888) 629-BASS or email me…

Peacock Bass Fishing Report for Miami

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

fishing-011.jpg

Today I had the pleasure of taking out Paul Meyer and his son Seth . They originally wanted to go after largemouth bass in the Everglades but I suggested they may want try to go after the peacock bass.

So after talking to Paul and his son, I picked them up at the Hilton hotel docks and went on our journey through the canals of Miami. It was a really good day of fishing, by lunch time we had 18 peacock bass in the boat.

After lunch we went back out to catch another 12 peacocks for a total of 30 for the day.

Unlike largemouth bass the peacock bass really like the heat of the summer, so come on down the peacock bass and I are waiting for you!

Check out our Florida Peacock bass website for more additional information.

Lake Ida & Osborne Fishing Report 5-20-2008

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

100_0061-web1.jpgToday I fished Lake Ida area with Gene & Neil from Wellington, Fl which seen my new article on Fly Fishing for Florida Peacock bass in the May 2008 Florida Sportsman magazine.

So, after they read the article we had full intentions of fly fishing for the peacock bass with some of the new techniques that were written about. As always, weather (high winds) are never predictable and today it left us with very few optio100_0062-web.jpgns to choice from. Even so we started with the flies and rapidly realized it wasn’t going to work and pulled out the spinning gear.

We then switch to topwater lures and even live bait in some cases to provoke the bite. All said in done, we caught around 10 peacock bass that ranged from 1-1/2lbs up to 5lbs.

Mother nature didn’t provide the day we were looking for, but Gene & Neil scheduled a new trip next month to fish the Florida Everglades while fly fishing for trophy largemouth bass.

If you are in the South Florida area and would like to get a couple of hours in on a Peacock bass fishing trip, give me call!
