Today I took out David Irving all the way from the United Kingdom(UK). The day started a little slow due to our first cold front of the year, once the sun broke it started to pick up rather quickly. It ended up being a very exciting day of
peacock bass fishing here in South Florida.
David is an avid fisherman and once he figured out how the where biting there was no stopping him. By the end of the day, he boated 32 fish up to 4 lbs and a couple of really nice pictures to take back home.
What a great day on the water it was today, it was amazing how well David adapted to the Florida Peacock bass!

Today I had the pleasure of taking out Jud VanWeelden and his wife Patricia from Carlisle, Iowa. Jud and his wife are avid fishermen and wanted to see what south Florida Peacock bass are all about. Well the day started off a little slow due to cooler water temps, but once the sun started to break the action started. It was non-stop for the rest of the day right down to the last minute.
Buy the end of the day they boated 25|+ fish, it was an awesome day of fishing!

Phillip is back for another four days of peacock bass and largemouth bass fishing, we met up early in the morning hours for our new adventure and long drive to Miami. When we got to our location we launched the boat in the water, as we tied on our plugs for the day which consided of topwater and sub surface lures made by luckycraft.
The first fish of the day was caught by Phillip it was right around 3 pounds, it was a peacock bass. As we moved on in the day we went back to Phillip’s favorite spot and the bite was on. We caught over 15 fish in that one spot, all largemouth bass. By the end of the day we caught over 60 fish on artificial lures made by lucky craft. Phillip will be gone for the next two days with his girlfriend, he will be back for 3 more days starting Thursday.

What a good group of guys, they all work for Purina Pet food company. If you like the outdoors and have animals give Purina a try, the folks there love the outdoors.
Mark, Rob, and Chris called me up just to make sure they where not using live bait, they fish tournaments back home and wanted to use artificial lures only. Of coarse, I said no problem lets go fishing and see what you can do. It did not take long for me to realize these boys are some serious tournament fisherman.
This was going to be adventure for sure, they had scheduled a sunrise to sunset trip so I know we were going to have a long day of fishing. The day went a little better then expected and it was not without the highs and lows a long day provides, but we managed to have another great day in October which considered by most to be one of the worst months of the year for bass fishing. By the end of the day we caught 17 good solid large mouth bass and peacock bass, up to four pounds.
The fish were caught on swim baits, top water plugs and hard jerk baits style lures.

On day 3 due to the moon cycle the fishing slowed down a little, we were still catching a lot of little fish, but only in the one and two pound class.
We moved around a lot and had to cover a lot of water, our bigger fish came right at sunset and that’s when Phillip caught this nice peacock bass on the 4th day. I asked Phillip if he wanted to fish his first tournament and he said, yes so we are off to fish Lake Okeechobee tomorrow.

This week we had Joe and Athena Mitchell from the Bronx in New York fishing with us, I had the pleasure of spending the last 2 days with them. Day 1 with me we went down to Miami for the hard fighting peacock bass.
This couple are long time repeat customer and a blast to fish with, we had a pretty good day boating about 16 peacock bass. Right at the end of the day Joe hooked into a tarpon that was about 25 to 30 pounds, he got to fight this fish for about 5 minutes. Just when the fight was about over, the line nicked the prop on the outboard and broke off. The tarpon jumped 4 times and gave us a great aerial show.
On day 2 we went to Lake Ida to do something a little different. The day started of hot and ended pretty good, they boated 25 fish with a 6 pound kicker large-mouth bass. I think this was Joe’s personal biggest bass ever!

I’m looking forward to seeing them again in March, maybe Joe can break his record again.

Well all I can say for Phillip and I went out to search new water in search of the hard fighting Florida Peacock Bass and had an excellent day of fishing. Catching large mouth bass as well as Peacock bass on this day. I managed to get Phillip his largest bass ever and his first ever Peacock bass as we caught more bass then he had ever caught.
Most of the areas were good fishing, but when you found running water fishing became really good. We did have rain fall most of the day, with a point where the rain blow sideways for a while. We found everything had to do with water conditions and the fish could be caught if you made the right adjustments, all of the largemouth and peacock bass today were caught on artificial lures only!

What another good day for fly fishing in the urban canals for Peacock bass. Today, I took out Spencer and his wife Donna which were from Kansas. We started our day of throwing some custom made flies that look like the exotic species in our lake and canal system which the peacock bass really like to feed on. We had a few follow ups but no takers to start off with, finally we changed to a fly that Spencer ties and boy did the fish really like that one. Bye the way Spencer, thank you for the flies you gave me they will get well used. Donna was also really good at fly fishing they both caught peacock bass as the picture above shows.
Can’t wait to have these two back again!

Today I had the pleasure of taking Jim Hammer out fly fishing for peacock bass. We started off in some remote canals fishing against the sides of the canal banks, it was a little slow until the sun started rising. As we moved around a lot by the end of the day, we had 22 peacock bass on flies.
What a good day it was!
