 Florida Peacock Bass
Today I had the pleasure of taking long time repeat customer Dave Stolarek and his son Daniel all the way from the frozen tundra of Chicago, IL. Dave and his whole family have been coming out with us for many years and we have developed a really good friendship.
Today was a very special day, as he brought his son down for two days of Florida freshwater fishing. I warned Dave about the cold fronts coming in and it may slow the peacocks down a bit. But, he really wants Daniel to catch a peacock bass, so off we when to peacock bass fishing in South Miami where the water is warmer. We started our day off with Daniel catching his first Tarpon, which started the day out pretty well. As the day moved on we picked away at the peacock bass, then I suggested to Dave, “lets check out one more spot.” That was where Daniel got this very nice 5 pound peacock.
I can’t wait to see the video of this catch, it was an awesome fight!
Looking forward to seeing tomorrow when we fish the Everglades.
Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

 Peacock Bass in South Florida
Today I had the pleasure of taking out Stacy & Jamie Kloos from Lakewood, OH on a peacockbass adventure in South Miami. We only had a short time to work because time goes bye so fast when you are on the water, so I jumped around to a few areas that I knew the fish would be hiding. Luck has it, every spot we went to we caught fish.
The peacock bass today were caught on shinners and rattle traps, by the end of our 6 hour trip we caught 15 fish up to four pounds as seen in the picture above.
Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

Today I had the pleasure of taking out repeat customers from Wellington, Fl. Gene Holland and his nephew Mike from Colorado. Gene really wanted Mike to catch a couple of Florida peacocks today, I said, “I will do my best, the water temperatures dropping in the winter months it slows the fishing down sometimes.
On this day, the winter winds could not keep us from catching peacock bass today. By the end of day we had 20 peacock bass and 5 really nice large mouth bass. While the weather continues to change as winter is here, go fishing…there are no bad days and remember the fishing still have to eat!
Looking forward to seeing Gene again in February.
Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

We went to a new location today for Phillip, but an old one for me. This is one of the great things about South Florida., there’s lots of water and fisheries everywhere. This was one of the coldest days we have had this year, we started the day throwing top water baits. The key to the bite was working the lure very slow, due to the cold front you would think the fish would have not hit top water…well they did!
The first fish we caught was 4 pounds, so I told Phillip to change his bait to what I was throwing. It worked out pretty well, he caught a very chunky 2 pound largemouth right away. As the day moved on, we moved around a lot and had action all day. We caught over 50 fish, 40 of them where peacock bass and the other 10 were a mix of largemouth bass and snakeheads.
If you are visiting South or Central Florida for work or vacation and want to experience the best bass fishing that there is to offer then please give us a call. We can be reached at (888) 629-BASS or email me…

We had the pleasure of going fishing with the Willins Family from NY today. Bruce his wife Cheryl and daughter Sam, it was really cool. Sam is a girls softball player and they were in town for a 4 day long tournament. So, dad decided to do a family fishing trip in there off time which was a blast.
While I did not get any pictures myself, they did with there family cam. It was like we were filming a new peacock fishing show almost, I still can’t believe my battery went dead in my camera.
Sam started things off with a 4lb jack, what a great fighting fish. You can tell she fishes with her dad, catching blues in NY because her form was almost prefect. Then Bruce missed a few, I think it was more of a lite bite then his skills. He then followed up with a 2lb peacock bass which jumped off at the boat. After a few location changes and adjusting our retrieve of the lures everyone started to hookup. It was one fish after another for a while, I think Bruce broke off on the largest fish of the day. But, ended with a nice 3 lber on almost the last cast of the day.
The Willins family will be down again next year and we look forward to fishing with them again.
We have a Peacock bass website just for the South Florida fish, you can visit it at www.flpeacockbass.com. To keep up with our fishing reports visit our peacock blog often.
Remember the summer days were made for Peacock bass fishing, they love the heat!
