Lake Osborne in September

Person -Sept 09

Lake Osborne on September 8, I had John Person and son Jason on-board for a Palm Beach fishing adventure. The temperature outside was in the 90′s, water temperature was in the high 80′s. Jason Person had never caught a largemouth bass he was excited and ready to hook up.  Actually Jason talked his dad into a trip on his last day of a family vacation. At first Jason missed a few fish, but learn quickly to set that hook and what can I say Jason landed his first bass.  Once again a bass angler has been born,  Jason can now say he caught a largemouth bass.

John Person and son had a hard 1/2 day fishing, but what young Jason set out to do was catch a bass, and that he accomplished.  The memory’s made catching his first largemouth bass in Palm Beach Florida will always be burned in that young mans mind.

Thank you Person family for letting us have the honors of teaching Jason to bass fish!

South Florida Bass Fishing Guides

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

The South Florida area is one of the hottest spots in the country for vacationing and bass fishing. For proof of this, you don’t have to look any further than the amount of bass fishing guides in the area. There are plenty of South Florida bass fishing guides, and each one promises an enjoyable fishing trip.

If you are an experienced angler and know your way around a body of water, chances are you won’t need the services of a fishing guide. There are plenty of prime bass spots that can offer great fishing in South Florida.

South Florida Fishing Guides

The number of South Florida bass fishing guides is due to the popularity of this area as a vacation spot. These services are great for someone who is in the Naples, Ft Myers, Palm Beach, Ft Lauderdale and Miami area for a family getaway or even a business trip. They are also great for people who are not exactly experienced in bass fishing. Hawghunter.net, south Florida’s largest bass fishing guide service offers guaranteed catches with it’s industry trend setting fishing policy, NO FISH, No PAY! Many of the other services will charge you regardless whether you catch fish. That fact alone tells you how confident the guides at Hawghunter.net are that you will catch fish with them.

You don’t have to drain your pocket book to enjoy these fishing trips either. Many of the South Florida bass fishing guides offer trips that are quite affordable. An eight hour trip for two people can be purchased for anywhere from $350-$400. There are various amounts of time that these trips are available in for less money. Some of these guides will also offer lessons and refresher courses in bass fishing. They give you the opportunity to spend a day on the water with a bass fishing expert.

These guided trips are a great addition to any Florida getaway at an affordable price. You can either take the whole family, or split off by yourself instead of going shopping. There are many South Florida bass fishing guides to choose from, we suggested this one because of it’s #1 ranking on Google. They should be able to find a fishing adventure that suits your needs and preferences. There is an abundance of information online about many of these services. Take your time and research them before making your choice. Make sure you book as far in advance as you can, because many of the South Florida bass fishing guides book up quickly, especially during vacation season.

Other great reasons to book a fishing trip in the South Florida area include the weather and the number of other things to do in the area. Not to mention that it is some of the best bass fishing in the country, whether you use a guide or not.

Peacock Bass Fishing on Lake Ida

Monday, June 16th, 2008

ernie-hockenstein.jpg  Today I had the pleasure of taking out Ernie Hockenstein on Lake Ida. Ernie, contacted us at BassOnline.com several weeks ago, his son lives on the Lake Ida change and has seem me driving around catching fish. Knowing Ernie loved fishing, he wrote down the name and number off the side of my boat and gave us a call.

Ernie and I had a great day and the morning was full of excitement. We started throwing a small pop-r lure, the peacock bass were just loving it. As the weather started to change and morning rains started rolling in, this called for additional change. So, we elected to go with a sub surface lure and started catching even more peacocks as day when on.

When the rains started coming down even harder we decided to call it a day, we ended up with fifteen peacocks in just 4 short hours. In any conditions this is a good morning of fishing.

Check out our Florida Peacock bass website for more additional information.

Okeechobee Bass Fishing Report 5-30-08

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Lake Okeechobee bass fishing pictures Heavy winds the last few days on Lake Okeechobee. Today, I fished with John and Mary Rogers from New York.

We fished a few shiners, but ended up using mostly plastics. I sure enjoyed fishing with them today, the bite started a little slow at first with just a scattered bite. As the morning passed the bite picked up a lot.

Today we fished 6 hours and caught about 35, lost a bunch of the fish that were biting softly.

As we approach a new moon there are still a few females that have not spawned but not a bunch. Today we saw a nice school of bass come up with the bass being brought to the boat on swim bait.

Come catch ‘em on World famous Lake Okeechobee!
