Hi CaptainBrett,

I just wanted to say thanks again for the great trip on 3 May.  I’m trying to talk some of my friends into an extended trip next spring for Florida bass fishing and saltwater fishing in the everglades. Is May a good month for both??  Also enclosing a photo which I think came out well.

Thanks again,

Daniel C. Tuttle

Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

Fly Fishing for Peacocks

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Today I had the pleasure of doing an interview with Richard Myron, owner of flyfishingdiscounters.com. We decided to go into Miami for peacock bass on fly rods. When we got to our first spot I knew the fish where not their by the color of the water, so I moved to a diferrent spot close by. We started chipping away at a couple of spots and caught a few peacocks while Richard video taped me. He plans on using us cathing fish for his website. We decieded to move on to a couple of other spots and at the next spot we stopped, we caught 9 more peacocks at that spot. By the end of the trip we ended up with 15 peacocks on flies.

Looking forward to seeing Richard again on our planned Lake Ida trip!

Lake Ida & Osborne Fishing Report 5-20-2008

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

100_0061-web1.jpgToday I fished Lake Ida area with Gene & Neil from Wellington, Fl which seen my new article on Fly Fishing for Florida Peacock bass in the May 2008 Florida Sportsman magazine.

So, after they read the article we had full intentions of fly fishing for the peacock bass with some of the new techniques that were written about. As always, weather (high winds) are never predictable and today it left us with very few optio100_0062-web.jpgns to choice from. Even so we started with the flies and rapidly realized it wasn’t going to work and pulled out the spinning gear.

We then switch to topwater lures and even live bait in some cases to provoke the bite. All said in done, we caught around 10 peacock bass that ranged from 1-1/2lbs up to 5lbs.

Mother nature didn’t provide the day we were looking for, but Gene & Neil scheduled a new trip next month to fish the Florida Everglades while fly fishing for trophy largemouth bass.

If you are in the South Florida area and would like to get a couple of hours in on a Peacock bass fishing trip, give me call!
