Today I took out David Irving all the way from the United Kingdom(UK). The day started a little slow due to our first cold front of the year, once the sun broke it started to pick up rather quickly. It ended up being a very exciting day of
peacock bass fishing here in South Florida.
David is an avid fisherman and once he figured out how the where biting there was no stopping him. By the end of the day, he boated 32 fish up to 4 lbs and a couple of really nice pictures to take back home.
What a great day on the water it was today, it was amazing how well David adapted to the Florida Peacock bass!

BassOnline Fishing Outfitter is pleased to announce that we have introduced a new Peacock bass fishing video with incredible under water footage. The video was made with the help of North American Fishermens Dan Larsen with additional partners and was created to air nationwide and be available by download from sources such as YouTube.com and Google.com. BassOnline.com, Florida’s largest provider of Florida freshwater fishing tours is the host provider for the video.
The promo video above was just completed and designed to promote the hard fighting peacock bass in South Florida. The video features special underwater coverage, along with specific data on canal and lakes in Florida. The footage is in the same areas that you will be fishing when you come fish with us in South Florida. This video was made up specifically using artificial lures, while another popular technique is live bait (shiners) fishing. We once again wanted to separate our service from the rest by using experience and our knowledge that will once again be used with you on your trip. This will be the official video for our Florida Peacock bass website www.flpeacockbass.com. The video is a bit longer then we would have liked it, but once you have watched it you will understand why we simply could not edit any of the great footage.

We went to a new location today for Phillip, but an old one for me. This is one of the great things about South Florida., there’s lots of water and fisheries everywhere. This was one of the coldest days we have had this year, we started the day throwing top water baits. The key to the bite was working the lure very slow, due to the cold front you would think the fish would have not hit top water…well they did!
The first fish we caught was 4 pounds, so I told Phillip to change his bait to what I was throwing. It worked out pretty well, he caught a very chunky 2 pound largemouth right away. As the day moved on, we moved around a lot and had action all day. We caught over 50 fish, 40 of them where peacock bass and the other 10 were a mix of largemouth bass and snakeheads.

Today I met up in the afternoon with Willy and his friend John. Willy is a fly fishing instructor and stuck to fly fishing all day, while John was pitching live bait to the key areas. Willy was putting the fly every where I asked him, I said…put it under the tree, he did it.
In just four short hours I had these two guys out they caught 17 fish, with a mix of peacock bass and largemouth. Willy is planning on being back next month.

Today I took Julie Futscher and her son Robert from Moores Hill, IN out for some hard fighting fun in the sun. It was a great day on the water, they boated 21 bass in a 6 hour super half day trip. Robert had one on about 6 pounds and it went around a piling and broke the line, what a heart breaker. But that’s what fishing is all about, you catch some and loose some.
All said and done it was another great day on the water.
On day 3 due to the moon cycle the fishing slowed down a little, we were still catching a lot of little fish, but only in the one and two pound class.
We moved around a lot and had to cover a lot of water, our bigger fish came right at sunset and that’s when Phillip caught this nice peacock bass on the 4th day. I asked Phillip if he wanted to fish his first tournament and he said, yes so we are off to fish Lake Okeechobee tomorrow.

This week we had Joe and Athena Mitchell from the Bronx in New York fishing with us, I had the pleasure of spending the last 2 days with them. Day 1 with me we went down to Miami for the hard fighting peacock bass.
This couple are long time repeat customer and a blast to fish with, we had a pretty good day boating about 16 peacock bass. Right at the end of the day Joe hooked into a tarpon that was about 25 to 30 pounds, he got to fight this fish for about 5 minutes. Just when the fight was about over, the line nicked the prop on the outboard and broke off. The tarpon jumped 4 times and gave us a great aerial show.
On day 2 we went to Lake Ida to do something a little different. The day started of hot and ended pretty good, they boated 25 fish with a 6 pound kicker large-mouth bass. I think this was Joe’s personal biggest bass ever!
I’m looking forward to seeing them again in March, maybe Joe can break his record again.
Today I had the pleasure of taking out some repeat customers from Cooper City, Florida. John, Grampa Rod and little 5 year old Ethan.
These guys have been just about everywhere with me, so I told them lets go to a diffrent spot this time around. I beleive we can catch more peacock bass and better quaility. We were only fishing for 4 hours today, so we went close by the Bait and Tackle shop. In this 4 hour trip we caught close to 30 peacock bass up to 4 pounds.
Well all I can say for Phillip and I went out to search new water in search of the hard fighting Florida Peacock Bass and had an excellent day of fishing. Catching large mouth bass as well as Peacock bass on this day. I managed to get Phillip his largest bass ever and his first ever Peacock bass as we caught more bass then he had ever caught.
Most of the areas were good fishing, but when you found running water fishing became really good. We did have rain fall most of the day, with a point where the rain blow sideways for a while. We found everything had to do with water conditions and the fish could be caught if you made the right adjustments, all of the largemouth and peacock bass today were caught on artificial lures only!
