Bass Fishing in Disney City

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
Hello everybody, this is Capt. Kip,

Today I took out Mr. and Mrs. King and the weather was perfect, we hammered the fish. We caught about 30 fish up to 8lbs. 8 oz.
The 8 lb fish must have liked Mr and Mrs King because they both set the hook at the same time and caught her. I have never seen this happen before! Mr and Mrs. King were very appreciative and said this was the best trip they ever had.
The fish were caught in 12 to 17 feet of water on live golden shiners. I will always remember you, catching the 8 lb. fish at the same time is not an every day occurance.

Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

Orlando Bass Fishing on New Years Eve

Monday, January 10th, 2011
Hello everybody this is Captain Kip,

This was the last fishing trip for 2010. I fished with Minoro Vehara and son. The fishing was slow due to the cold weather. We caught 12 fish up to 4 lbs. All the fish were caught on wild golden shiners, we had no bites on artificial. I really enjoyed fishing with both of you and hope to see you next time you come to Florida.
Happy New Year,Til next time tight lines and good fishing….

University of Tennesse, Chattanooga Wins on Lake Okeechobee

Monday, January 10th, 2011

(Jan. 09, 2011 – Okeechoebee, FL)… OKEECHOBEE, Fla. (Jan. 8, 2011) – The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga team of Nicholas Pratt and James Childers, won the National Guard FLW College Fishing Southeast Division on Lake Okeechobee Saturday with five bass weighing 13 pound, 13 ounces. The victory earned the team $10,000 to be split between the university and the university’s bass-fishing club; $7,500 for the bass club and $2,500 for their school. The win also helped them advance to the Southeast Division Regional Championship.

“I’m so pumped right now,” said James Childers, a sophomore in Finance. “We were fishing a lot differently than anyone else; we went to the deeper water in the canals near the dam and the Kissimmee River and used DD 22s and spinnerbaits. We found a pattern that worked for us last week during a practice we came down for and it held up today. We stuck with what we knew and it paid off.

“We knew that with the cold front that came through the shallow grassy areas that Lake Okeechobee is known for probably wouldn’t be productive so we headed for deeper water,” added Nicholas Pratt a senior in business finance. (more…)
