Stick Marsh 10lber

Stick Marsh 10lber

Mary and Charles Johnson were coming to Florida to bass fish on World Famous Lake Okeechobee like many before them. On this day guide Capt Donny Biggs made a huge decision which forever change the outcome of there fishing trip.

With Lake Okeechobee being unpredictable at best, guides like Bass Online guide Capt Donny Biggs need to go that extra mile. Sometime we need to take it upon ourselves to do what we need to, to guaranty the customer a great fishing trip. Why, to ensure the paying customers are getting it’s money worth and by good decision making we can do just that…

While so many people still want the experience of catching a Okeechobee trophy bass, despite the lake not fishing up to it’s historical history. This is no excuse for any guide service to take you out for a boat ride, Mary and Charles Johnson came all the way from Corydon, IN in search of a trophy Florida bass and that’s what they expected.

As fishing always changes unpredictability, the Johnson’s were scheduled well in advance to visit the Clewiston area of Lake Okeechobee. With responsibility in his hands, Capt Donny Biggs did what he though was going to be best for the out come of the Johnson family fishing vacation. He called them the night before and explained the conditions on the lake and that he had an option. Without hesitating the Johnson’s replied, “your the guide if that’s where we need to go then let’s go.”

Capt Donny rerouted then to Stick Marsh/Farm 13 fishery located in Fellsmere where he has been consistently catching good numbers of fish and a few quality ones.  Not to go with out mention, this fishery was over an hour out of the way for Capt Donny.

The day started out pretty good, with a 5lber. The bites were spread apart at times, but when you got bit it was a good one. I thing we caught around 12 to 14 fish total, with a couple of 5′s, several 4′s and the monster 10lber.

It wasn’t long after that we ended the trip and said,”it don’t get no better then this.”

Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

The Valencia Palms Anglers Association of Delray Beach, FL

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Today was a good day, we had a six boat trip go out in the Everglades. Yes, six boats is not a problem at all we have the largest staff of guides in the state. Six boats are really a pleasure, it’s not to big but just right size to provide them with the personal attention they needed.

With the water coming down fast in the Everglades, the fishing has been red hot with excellent numbers of fish being caught. Bigger fish have been hit or miss, but we are still managing to get a few good chance at them during the day. As you can see from the picture above, this group of anglers manged to catch over 400 bass in just 6 hours.

Most of the fish were in the one to three pound range, which typicality happens when the water first comes down. Each day the bigger fish will start biting better, but WOW how can you complain about 400 plus fish!

Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

Bass Fishing in the Everglades with Father and Son TEAM

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Today I had the pleasure of taking out Vincent and his son Chris which are repeats of ours. We only had a short day, so we had to get at it rightway.

Time on the water and the recent cold fronts slowing down the fishing I was really not sure what to exspect on this day. We manged to put a couple of 5 pounders in the boat. Chris was a good fisherman, he threw a wacky worm and super fluke to catch most of his fish on this trip.

All in all, another great trip with only a big smile left behind!

Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

Florida Fishing with the Rinaldi Family

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Peacock and Largemouth Bass

Today I had the pleasure of taking long time repeats the Rinaldi Family, this trip they brought down some friend he works with to experience our Florida fishing. They with us for a three day adventure, we managed to get a few nice large mouth and a few nice peacocks. We also tried catching a Tarpon again, but we were unsuccessful. We did see several, but they were clearly not even interested in the live bait, but it was still fun trying!
