Today was our second day on the water with Shirley and Jessie from Hinsville, GA.
The first day they went peacock bass fishing, which you can fine the under recent reports and they a had a fantastic day. Today they wanted to experience the Everglades and with the recent rains we have had I thought it would slow the fishing down. Boy was I ever wrong, we must of caught 70 fish up to three pounds playing with artificial lures. Shirley and Jessie only wanted to throw lures and let me tell you Shirley can fish really good!
She would put the lures right up in the grass and work it out just right. By the way, on the two days that they where out with me Shirley managed to catch all the big fish.
Sorry Jessie, but I just had to mention it!
Looking forward to seeing them next year…
Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

 Florida Fishing Outfitter
What a customer should expect from there fishing guide!
1.Show up on time
2.Provide a clean boat, be ready to fish.
3. Have gear/tackle ready to fish (new leaders or line, etc.) If clients wish to use their own rods, offer to do the rigging for them.
4. Give safety instructions for boat use, have PFD’s ready and in usable condition.
5. Cater to client’s needs while fishing. If they get a tangle, take care of it for them or be there to change lures and/or bait.
6. Pay attention to what’s going on. Keep boat in best position for the client to fish…not the guide.
7. Don’t fish unless invited by your client. If you are invited to do so, offer to the client for them to reel in any fish you hook especially when there are children aboard. You are not getting paid to have a day of fishing for yourself!
8. Be ready with the fishing net. Don’t tell other clients to net fish because you are too busy fishing yourself.
9. Have some kind words for your clients. Go easy on criticism, if any at all. Don’t talk down on their gear. Suggest using yours in a tactful way if their gear is inadequate.
10. If customer loose a fish, don’t automatically insult them for it. Even the best angler loses fish. If you notice consistent mistakes, take the individual aside and quietly counsel him on proper technique so he can keep his pride.
11. Upon landing of the fish, take care of the angler’s catch, unhook it, measure it, and properly stow or release it.
12. At the end of the day, provide assistants with directions, answer questions and thank them for spending the day with you!
Relativity simple rules for guides to follow and customers to expect!
Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Shane and Lena from Charlotte, NC.
When we started our adventure in the Everglades Shane told me how he is experienced at bass fishing and fishes the FLW at times. I told them they were in for a really good time, the fishing is red hot that we could catch up to 50 or 100 fish today.
As it goes in the Everglades, they caught 60 plus fish today. As you can tell by the smiles on there faces, the Everglades did not disappoint anyone once again.
Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

 Everglades Holiday Park Bass Fishing
Today was a good day in the Everglades for fishing, I fished with long time repeat customer Jim Anthis from Syracuse, NY .
Jim came down for a short visit to see his mom and me of coarse…haha. I received a last minute call, can we get out for a short trip in the Everglades?
I told him all about the fishing and how the water is dropping which makes the catching good numbers of fish a sure thing. Plus the quality fish are also biting on artificial lures, so we decided to start our journey out in the Everglades.
We only had a short time fame to fish, but we still managed to catch over 30 fish up to four pounds.
Till next time tight lines and good fishing….

What a good day on the water with with Shirley Carter and her husband Jessie from Hinsville, GA . The couple was out for two days, one peacock bass fishing and one out in the Everglades.
The peacock bass fishing was a very good day, Shirley and Jessie requested to fish with artificial lures only. Knowing these fish, I still suggested getting a few shiners just in case. We had a incredibly wet day ahead of us and I did not know how it may affect the peacock bass fishing. So, she agreed we pick up two dozen and off we went on our way to Lake Ida in hunt of the mighty peacock bass.
When we got there I really didn’t now what to expect, I was just hoping we could get in the day with such bad weather in the forecast. Lone be hold, the peacock bass were just where I thought they would be. As unpredictable as they are, they reacted just as I thought…maybe it’s me, just maybe I am starting to think like a peacock bass. Eitherway it worked out really well, by the end of day we lost count on how many peacock we caught…but I know it was well over 30 all on artificial lures.
