South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Today I took out Allen Mills and his buddy Lorne Bly from Canada. We went down to Miami for some hard fighting peacock bass action. This time of the year the bite can be unpredictable because of the cold fronts and water temp changing often.

Today the bite started out a little slow, but they wound up catching 18 fish for the day. It ended up a good day of fishing as it usually does in South Florida this time of the year.

Looking forward to fishing with these again!

Everglades Fishing Going Good…

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Today I had the pleasure of taking Scott Saunberson from Canada. I picked Scott up early in the morning from his hotel and we talked about the fishing conditions, what type of fishing he likes and how much does he get to do it. Since he lives in Canada he only has a short time in South Florida, so he’s fishing two days with us. Because of the season changes up north, he interested in the season down here. So on the way out to the Everglades I was able to explain to him what’s going on with the water and what the bass are doing this time of the year. Basically, I asked him, “do you want numbers of fish or do you want to go after big fish?”

We decided to go where the numbers were and since I have him for two days we would go after bigger bass tomorrow. We ended up having a great day, we caught over 30 largemouth bass up to three pounds.

Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
